27 Apr Fano Blue Flag 2021
Fano (PU) – For the 17th consecutive year and 21 in total starting from 2000, Fano obtained the Blue Flag, the recognition that is assigned by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) to seaside tourist resorts in Italy and Europe which comply with various criteria relating to sustainable land management.
The beaches of Fano that have won the blue flag are the north one, that of Torrette and our beloved Sassonia!
The requirements concern the following 4 thematic areas:
- Environmental education and information: for example, information on water quality, local ecosystems, a code of conduct must be posted.
- Water quality: for example, the beach must fully comply with the sampling and analysis requirements of bathing water, must comply with the waste water treatment directives.
- Environmental management: for example, the beach must be clean, there must be bins for recycling, toilets and changing rooms.
- Services and safety: for example, there must be an adequate number of lifeguards, first aid equipment.
The Mayor Massimo Seri comments on the conquest as follows: “The conquest of the Green Flag 2021, in addition to being an important attestation to the work of the administration, is a useful element for all the tourist and economic operators of the city will be able to enhance it as a distinctive element”.
The delivery ceremony will take place on Saturday 10 July in Alba Adriatica, in the province of Teramo.
